- Scientific Name: Rana Sevosa
- Appearance: They are stocky frog, with a body measuring about 3 inches in length. Their coloration ranges from a brown-green to a brown-black, all frogs have dark warts.
- Range: They are found mostly in southern Mississippi; however, they were once found in Louisiana, Alabama, and most of Mississippi.
- Why they are disappearing: Mississippi Gopher Frogs are facing extinction due to enormous habitat loss. New construction plans have caused acres of habitat to be drained. The use of pesticides and other poisons have also been slowly poisoning the remaining populations.
